Update notice for users of DAHUA integration

Dear clients,

We are happy to inform you about the newest features of video monitoring functionality! Meet improved smart ELDES security solutions and connect any IP camera supporting RTSP streaming protocol to ELDES Security App with no limitations on brands or quantity.

What is important to know for current ELDES Security App users, who integrated their DAHUA cameras using the old method?

How this update affects the old method of adding DAHUA cameras?

  1. Now it will not be possible to add cameras using the old method.
  2. Already added cameras will be still available.
  3. Since we cannot guarantee high-quality with the old method, we strongly recommend that you or your customers switch from it to an RTSP solution or use DAHUA IMOU App, as soon as possible.

How to connect a camera to the original DAHUA IMOU App:

STEP 1. Download the DAHUA IMOU app and register.

STEP 2. Copy the camera’s serial number and delete the camera from ELDES Security App.

1. Go to the app video section.

2. Open the camera (which was added using the old method) settings:

4. Write down or copy the camera’s “Serial number”.

5. Press the “Delete camera” button.

STEP 3. Add the camera to the DAHUA IMOU App.

Add a new camera to the IMOU app by using the “Serial number” from STEP 2.

How to switch from the old video integration method to the new RTSP solution:

STEP 1. Generate an RTSP address for this camera.

There are two methods for obtaining an RTSP link to a video stream:

Method 1: Using the manufacturer’s documentation.

The RTSP link format is typically specified in the manufacturer’s documentation or in the camera web interface. If such information is missing or you have failed to locate it, use the second method.

Method 2: Using online services.

For example, http://www.ispyconnect.com:

1. Select the corresponding camera from the list on the website.

2. Fill in the form having specified the external IP address, the network port, login and password for the camera.

! Do not disclose the data for obtaining the RTSP link or the video stream link itself to any third parties.

! It is recommended to specify incorrect data when generating an RTSP link and change them to correct ones after the generation is complete. So, you will secure yourself against stream link interception by third-party services or keyloggers.

3. Click Generate. You will obtain a link to your video stream. If necessary, replace the incorrect data in the link with the correct ones.

4. You can check the functioning of the RTSP link using VLC media player or any player that allows viewing streaming video.

How to view a video from an IP camera using VLC media player

1. Open VLC media player.

2. Click File — Open network.

3. Enter the RTSP link and click Open.

4. If the video is not being transmitted, there is a problem in the settings of the camera or the network equipment. Check all the settings.

5. If the equipment is configured correctly but the stream from the video camera is nevertheless not displayed, contact the service support of the video surveillance system manufacturer.

6. Save the link to the video stream that you have obtained. You will need it to add the IP camera to the ELDES Security App.

STEP 2. Add this camera to the ELDES application using RTSP method.

1. In app video section, click the (+) button to add a new camera.

2. Mobile app opens the “Add new camera” window.

3. Fill in the camera name.

4. Select the camera’s manufacturer (for a default RTSP link, select “Other”).

5. Manually inscribe or simply insert a copy of the RTSP link that  you have obtained in STEP 1:

6. If needed, assign zones to this camera:

7. Press “Add” button. And you are DONE.

STEP 3. Remove the camera added by the old method.

1. Open the camera’s settings (i.e., the camera, which was added by using the old method):

2. Press the “Delete camera” button. That’s it!
